Description
The project was to design and install plumbing and heating works to ladies and gents toilet areas at DVC. Part of the works was to provide disabled access WC in both ladies and gents areas.
All work was carried out to a strict time limit in the summer holidays, and not to effect the rest of the building operation, this was achieved by working closely with the developer and maintenance staff at DVC.
We worked with the designer to create a space in the existing ladies toilet area for a disabled cubicle to be added, without losing a normal WC cubicle, this was achieved by moving range cubicles, altering drainage and cold water feeds behind stud work.
A disabled cubicle was also created in the gents toilet area along with an extra range of urinal bowls.
Working with specialist contractor who fitted all new IPS boarding throughout, we fitted all new WC pans, basins and urinal bowls. Percussion taps were installed to all basins to save water and TMV valves were fitted on hot water outlets to prevent scolding.
All work was completed and handed over on time and budget. This was the first major refurbishment project undertaken at the college from it being built.
“All plumbing work carried out to a high standard, really impressed with knowledge on disabled access and how we could get cubicle in. Installers took great care when fixing to IPS, no damage what so ever.” – Site Manager
